Over first Album jitters!

Sunday, August 20th, 2006

After listening to one of my favorite albums in my massive collection, I choose to take the time to chew over why it's so great. This CD is Korn's Life is Peachy CD. Although this CD has been around for ages and the band has come out with many albums because, this is still one of their greatest CDs. Allow me to tell you why. For starters, the album is crude, yet polished.

This may sound contradictory. (more…)

2005 « March « London Hogwashhttp://londonhogwash.co.uk/2005/03/page/1/

If Mezmerize by system of a down still hasn't found a home in your album collection, it is time for you to make a spot for it. Ever since I initially saw this band open in for Slayer in 1998, i've been a massive fan. Their self titled first CD was still a few months away from release at the time, but I was attentively waiting for it's arrival. As soon as it was released, I was not dissatisfied.

International House search from first4sale.comhttp://www.first4sale.com/int_enhanced.asp

My mates and I just got back in from the public house. We had been told there was going to be an marvelous starting out band playing there. Being how the source was reputable, we all decided we would see for ourselves. When I walked into the public house, I was certain it would be excellent. I mean, it is easy to tell as soon as you wander in if the audience is into the same type of music your into.

Greenday

The other day, I was listening to the american-idiot album by Green Day and felt myself feeling the exact same way I invariably do when I hear this band. I like Green Day and, although I didn't know about with them when they were an underground punk sensation, I purchased Dookie when it came out. This was the first album the group put out for a mainstream audience, and me liked it. I've always felt that they were not incredibly punk rock. I'll admit, I do not know how Green Day orginally sounded since I haven't heard their work from before Dookie. Still, I have heard many of their songs and I don't feel it's really punk music. Yep, it is angst ridden, the instrumentation is straightforward, and the singing is nasally. All of these aspects go into good Punk Music. Yet, if this is all there's to punk, next Slim Shady should be though of as a punk rocker.

Green Day does not make Punk Music from the way I see it. This is distinctly true of their 'american idiot' CD. This CD is in my album collection and I do like listening to it occasionally.

Commercial radio and punk don't mix!

However, when I do, it isn't since I would like to listen to Punk Music. If I am in the mood for punk rock, I pull out one of my XS-Energy, Stage B, Tax Exiles, or Johnny Moped CDs. With these Punk bands, I get the anger and the mad fast beats punk-music is meant to have. I mean, come on, if it is appropriate for the radio it can't incredibly be punk! Green Day makes damm good music, however they are not a punk band.

Angry rock needs a little more than a large month

I went to a public house with a couple of the boys last night.
We had been told there would be a couple great local band performing there that we really needed to see.
Usually, this guy is clued up, so we thought we'd go listen to their set.
When I walked into the boozer, I felt for sure it would be wonderful.
All that is required is a quick look and you can figure out if the crowd is made up of “your kind of people”, you know?

It's going to be incredible. I can't bring myself to do any work now. Think I will waste a days hoilday all so I can sneak in early and get a good view - if it possible. OH MY GOD. So this will mean I will have seen all my favorite bands!?! The first time I heard a-Ha when I was about 9, It didn't seem possible I would ever see them, never mind meet them and see them. I AM SO EXITED!!! They are the bentest band in the whole wide world.
