A Day Of The Stay At Home Mom

Being a stay at home mom has it’s many benefits. The simple fact that I am able to be home with my children is a reward in itself. I have three children ages 13, 4 and 1. My 13 year old obviously goes to school during the day and my 4 year old will be starting this year, but for the past few years it has been such a delight to be home with them and play with them.

Being a stay at home mom does not mean that I do not work. I also do that from my home as well. I have a routine that I follow everyday. This includes getting up to my 4 year old starring me in the face and coming out into the living room to sip my coffee and watch him play. My husband brings the 13 year old to school which is a plus, so I get to gradually wake up. At this point my 1 year old is still in dream world in his crib.

Around 8 AM I wake the little one up (if he is not already up) and begin to make breakfast for the two of them. Don’t get me wrong, just because my 1 year old sleeps until 8 AM does not mean that he doesn’t get up in the middle of the night.

Anyway, after breakfast, I sit the two boys together in the living room with some toys and TV so that I can begin my work day. My computer is in the living room also, so it is very convenient. Also, my work is completely online so I do not have to worry about any background noise. I usually work for around 4 hours and then take a break for lunch and some playtime with my children.

After lunch, I work again for a few more hours and usually quit around 4 PM. Then I spend the rest of the evening with my family. It is a wonderful little set up I have here being a stay at home working mom. I get to stay home, get up when my kids wake me up, shower and put on my moisturizer when I feel like it, begin work when I want and stop working when I want. Who could ask for a better life? I am very blessed to be able to live my life this way and still contribute to the household.
