Ways To Make That Dollar Stretch

With so many things happening in the world, I have found it to be extremely important that I watch the amount of money that I am spending. The credit crunch has hit, and though we don’t know it the change in exchange rate from dollors to pounds really does make a difference. Not everything is in a down turn, the supermarkets “value” ranges are doing better than ever, and wierdly enough cosmetic surgery has gone up in the uk. But it is also extremely important to find ways to increase my income, even if just by a little, so that I am a little better off then I would normally be. To increase my income I will work some extra hours, cut a neighbors grass, or baby sit. I will also make it a point to sit down at my computer and work on my home based business, whether it be Team building or recruiting for a bigger downline. Whatever it takes to make a few extra bucks is completely worth my time.

It is important though that I pay attention to the amount of money that I am spending. This can really get out of hand for me if I do not keep an eye on it. I tend to like to shop a lot. I buy my cosmetics online in order to save money, but even when you are saveing you are still spending on something that can be eliminated completely, so I’ve stopped for now. The next thing to do is to conserve on gasoline. Not only does this help the environment but it saves me a lot of money as well. Instead of making three or four trips during the week into town that is thirty minutes away I will conserve the gasoline and make one big trip to do everything I need to do while out there. This not only saves me money but it also saves me some time as well which can be put to much better use. I also make sure that I fill up my gasoline tank in the early morning as this is a known fact that you get more gallons for your buck this way. Why? Well later on in the day, gasoline tends to evaporate faster giving you less gas. Don’t believe me? Look it up.

Getting more things online is a good way forward as well. Taking the time to shop around to find the best price is also well worth it. I just renewed the caravan insurance, and got a much better deal for having picked a company on the second page of google rather than the first page. This can be done for many things.

I also make sure that I shop at the grocery stores that offer off brand foods. While these stores generally make you bag your own food, I have found that I save about one hundred and fifty dollars on my grocery bill every two weeks when I shop. This is a lot of money saved in just one week and it is in incredible amount of money saved over the course of a year. Coupon clipping, gasoline conservation, and keeping the lights off in the house as much as possible are all ways that I try to conserve my money so that I am prepared for when I really need the cash.
