Lily Allen cancels the majority of her tour to the U.S

The British pop star Lily Allen, (21), has cancelled majority of her North American tour dates in May and June and plans to go back home. But she will continue playing shows in New York City and Los Angeles and the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival on April 29 and the Bonnaroo Music And Arts Festival on June 15. It was said that Allen is bored with America and she wants to work on her next album. Allen is a BRIT Award  nominated English pop artist, and known for songs such as "Smile" and "LDN". Her hit single "Smile" rose to the top of the British charts in July 2006.

Allen’s concerts have now been cancelled after she struggled with traveling and being away from family and friends but her festival dates will go on as planned as she’s getting paid quite a lot of money to do these festivals, which have much bigger audiences. She has rescheduled a few dates of her new U.S. Tour which is expected to be resumed by sometime later this year.

On her “MySpace” blog, Allen joked that fame was a lot of hard work. "I thought that being a pop star meant going out getting trashed with famous people and sleeping in all day. The fact that this is not true has come as a huge disappointment to me, and as a result I am throwing the towel in." Allen also mentioned that she has been touring non-stop for the last year and feels that her recent performances weren't very good. She said that the break is only temporary and not the result of anything else going on in her life, saying, "I am not falling apart at the seams, I am not suffering with exhaustion, I am not pregnant, and I am not going to rehab. I will be here in America, promoting the album and also starting to write the second album, which I am beyond excited about."

Allen apologized to her fans who bought tickets to the cancelled shows.
