Plans to bring back Futurama
A interview with M. Groaning and David Cohen. Has brought up the suggestion that they might have commissioned of the wacky space adventure Futurama.
“3 months ago, I would have said we were going to start tomorrow” says writer David X Cohen. “And 1 month ago I would also have said we were going to start tomorrow. So … My current estimate is that we're starting tomorrow.“
The series was cancelled after 5 seasons because the television run of the show was rather unsuccessful, however the DVD sales where massive and ongoing so their was a outcry to recommission the series. The last episode “The Devil's Hands Are Idle Playthings” was left at a strange point where it imply that Fry and Leela had finally got it together. This suggested that the story was complete. However it was not that straight forward and could easily be disregarded in aid of a sequel.
