Is it worth submitting articles
The latest craze in online marketing is to submit article to website design to distribute free website content. So you compose a article then place a link to your website at the bottom and then nice friendly webmasters put it on thier website for all their visitors to see. So you get the greatly sort after one way relevant links, and you get plugged on someone else site to boot.
Which sounds fantasic what with all the rumour that reciprocal linking no longer works.
But I’m not so convinced, this is the new holy grail of internet marketing. Internet marketing via article writing in my humble opinion is far from easy.
For example think about aquiring inbound links to help you get a better ranking in the search engines. What about the duplicate filter? Well, because because the same article is offered to anyone who wants it it will alway be limited by the duplication filter, so even if your article gets published on 100 websites, you will only get credit for one and they might not even use your link.
So thiers a fairly high chance you won’t get any links back at all.
But the article themselves may bring traffic to your site, I hear you say! Maybe. To get people to publish your article they need to be put together in a certain way. The main reason most people fail to get their article published is because they are adverts not articles, they just write article selling their product or service. Very few people want to publish these kind of articles. To get them published their needs to be something in it for the website that are published. But if you write a informative/entertaining piece that is not made to advertise, the reader usually won’t have any good incentive to go to your site. Usually webmasters publish article to make their site better rather than to send people away. I predict 4 months down the line, everyone will be sick to the back teeth of think up articles after seeing very little results.
